We are currently seeking a dedicated substance abuse therapist with a focus on CBT for the addiction and dependency unit in Kristinehamn Municipality. The Addiction and Dependency Unit (MBE) currently has two staff members and provides outpatient treatment, including both group and individual therapy. We work with assessed interventions as well as offer advice directly to residents in Kristinehamn. We also provide qualified support for family members.
Our unit is part of the Department of Labor Market, Skills, and Welfare. The core mission of our department is to provide support and assistance so that individuals can become self-sufficient and lead independent lives, to offer support, help, and services to children, youth, and adults through assessments and interventions, and to promote adult learning.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a substance abuse therapist, you will support individuals facing addiction issues, focusing on treatment based on CBT. In this role, you will encounter people in various life situations and work both individually and in groups. Your tasks will include various psychosocial interventions such as:
• assessment
• mapping
• developing treatment plans
• follow-up on interventions
• support for family members
• relapse prevention
• testing
• group therapy.
You will utilize evidence-based methods such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other relevant tools to help clients achieve their goals.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in social services, healthcare, and other stakeholders in the municipality. We offer a supportive work environment with regular supervision and opportunities for professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome applicants who are trained alcohol and drug therapists, addiction therapists, have a CBT-focused education, or other relevant qualifications in the field. You should have experience working with young adults.
We consider it an advantage if you have experience in digital addiction treatment and knowledge of ASI, Audit/Dudit, MI, and relapse prevention.
In this role, it is important that you are a confident individual who can handle stressful situations calmly and steadily. You are also someone who maintains good structure and ensures that work progresses in an organized yet flexible manner when needed.
In meetings and interactions with colleagues, external parties, and clients, you are able to collaborate easily, listening and communicating in a responsive and pedagogical manner. You will encounter individuals with various life situations and addiction issues, making it essential that you can view these from their perspectives.
