WORK TASKS
As a Water and Sewage Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the daily operation and monitoring of the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. The work involves both preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency interventions to ensure safe and reliable water supply.
The work is varied and combines practical field tasks with system control and documentation. Some tasks are performed in pairs, while others are carried out independently.
Examples of work tasks:
• Operation, maintenance, and optimization of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pressure boosters, and pump stations.
• Sampling, measurement, and analysis of water quality according to applicable requirements.
• Rounds and functional checks of process equipment, pumps, valves, dosing systems, control and monitoring systems (SCADA).
• Troubleshooting and addressing operational disruptions in collaboration with colleagues and on-call staff.
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance and participating in reinvestment planning.
• Management and documentation in digital operational and self-monitoring systems.
• Participation in operational and emergency response organizations, including on-call service according to schedule.
• Contact with contractors, suppliers, and the public for service matters.
• Contribution to development work for energy efficiency, digitalization, and process optimization.
The position is full-time, located at the Water and Sewage Operations department. Regular working hours are weekdays, but scheduled on-call duty may occur during evenings, nights, and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates who have:
• Technical education, preferably in water and sewage technology, electrical, energy, mechanical, or operations engineering.
• Experience working in water and wastewater operations, process industry, or similar technical environment.
• Basic knowledge of control and regulation technology, electrical/mechanical maintenance, or process monitoring.
• Good computer skills and ability to work in digital operational and reporting systems.
• A valid driver's license (B-class) is required as the position may involve travel between different facilities.
Additional merits include:
• Experience in operation or maintenance at water treatment or sewage treatment plants.
• Knowledge of sampling, water chemistry, and environmental legislation.
• Experience with SCADA systems, pumps, and process equipment.
• Certificates or training in areas such as Hot Work, Road Work, Electrical Safety, or similar.
• Experience with on-call or emergency service in technical operations.
