This is what the job entails.
In this position, you will work as an Operations Technician for the water and wastewater utility network and, together with your colleagues, be responsible for the operation, ongoing service, and maintenance of the public sewage network. You will spend most of your time on assignments in all of VA SYD's member municipalities (Burlöv, Eslöv, Lomma, Lund, Malmö, and Svedala). We prioritize safety and quality in our work.
The work is typically based at our facility on Agnesfridsvägen in Malmö, but our projects and tasks are located throughout VA SYD's entire operational area. The Distribution department is responsible for all components included in a distribution facility: utility networks, pump stations, storage facilities, pressure boosting stations, and reservoirs. The department is responsible for both renewal planning and network improvements. It also oversees the Bulltofta water treatment plant. Wastewater is distributed within VA SYD's member municipalities. The unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sewage network and associated facilities and equipment necessary for transporting wastewater from customers to the treatment plant. Responsibilities
• Perform and document planned inspections, service, and maintenance of the sewage network.
• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems in the utility network.
• Manage urgent operational disturbances and take measures to prevent service interruptions.
• Participate in planned repairs and other maintenance efforts.
• Update and analyze map data in GIS systems.
• Actively contribute to a safe and secure working environment.
• On-call duty may be included in the role.
Qualifications
• High school diploma.
• Education or experience relevant to the tasks and role.
• Good technical understanding and experience working with digital documentation and GIS.
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Class B driver's license (BE and C licenses are advantageous).
