About this role
The heightened security political situation that Sweden is currently facing places increasing demands on the technical systems within the navy. Are you the person we are looking for who can contribute to the availability of Swedish naval platforms? The position involves working with technical systems on surface combatants, mine countermeasure vessels, and support ships, where propulsion systems, including engines, gearboxes, and propulsors, are the main focus of responsibility. Other related systems within your area include hydraulics, power generation, and various control and regulation systems.
About the Operations Control Office (DSK)
As part of the Navy Staff's Materiel Office, we design and procure both services and repairs for the Armed Forces' ships and boats. With professional employees, we carry out and develop operations together with the rest of the Armed Forces and in close collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the industry. The department (DSK) consists of approximately 90 employees distributed across four locations: Karlskrona, Berga, Muskö, and Gothenburg. The position is titled Systems Engineer in the Armed Forces and is based in Muskö.
Main Responsibilities
• Prepare preventive and corrective maintenance measures in dialogue with the operating units and convert these into orders to suppliers
• Inspect and quality assure (through documentation review, inspections, and verification) maintenance performed by suppliers
• Provide data for financial follow-up of placed orders
• Monitor the technical status of equipment (including spare parts, documentation, maintenance status, equipment checks, and performance verification) and propose actions
• Engage in dialogue regarding orders/reviews with suppliers and users
• Represent the customer within your technical area to other technical parties within the Armed Forces, FMV, and the industry
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Approved secondary education
• Post-secondary education with a technical focus or other relevant competence deemed equivalent by the employer
• Technical experience with engines and/or electronic systems (e.g., propulsion, power generation, and control of these)
• Fluent communication in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Experience working in technical support systems for operations and maintenance
• Good proficiency in common Office software
• Strong administrative skills
• Driver's license (B category)

DESIRABLE
• Knowledge of ship technical systems, particularly machinery and propulsion systems
• Experience in technical system or maintenance work within the machinery and propulsion area
• Experience with fire alarm and extinguishing systems
• Experience handling technical information in both paper and digital formats, as well as using operational monitoring systems
• Experience working in support systems SAP/S4HANA
• Experience in a technical role within the Armed Forces
• Experience from the shipping or shipbuilding industry
