Operational Activities at SJ Stockholmståg Traffic Management
The operational activities at SJ Stockholmståg Traffic Management are available 24/7 to ensure high quality and excellent customer service in commuter traffic. Our aim is to have a customer-focused traffic management that ensures efficient resource management of vehicles, personnel, stations, and traffic information. Within Traffic Management, there are several functional areas, including Customer and Station Service. SJ Stockholmståg Traffic Management is responsible for operational management of personnel serving on our trains and at our stations, ensuring correct traffic information is always available, and managing our operational resources in the field.
Your Upcoming Role
As an Operations Manager, you will secure staffing and management of station personnel working at our 50 stations in the operational setting to achieve an accessible, informative, and customer-oriented production. You will also secure staffing and management of External Operations Managers and Operational Traffic Support during events that risk significant traffic impact, with the aim of achieving punctual and efficient production.
Other Primary Work Tasks:
• Activate personnel care function during various accidents, threats, or violence
• Act as alarm receiver for assaults against operational personnel
• Direct external functions towards events affecting traffic
• Handle sick leave, return-to-work notifications, and vacancies
• Secure resource for ramp service and escort when needed
The position involves shift work, including night and weekend shifts. Operations run 24/7, every day of the year.
You will be part of the Traffic Management unit under the Traffic department. The Customer and Station Service Operations Manager function has a total of 16 employees, and the Traffic Management unit consists of nearly 100 people divided into different functions with mixed competencies.
Expectations for the Ideal Candidate
To succeed in the role, we seek someone with strong collaboration and communication skills. You should be engaged and driven to contribute to the organization's development and innovative thinking. You must be able to handle stress and prioritize when conditions change.
Additionally, you are required to have:
• At least three-year high school diploma or equivalent education
• Good IT skills
• Experience in operations management or other leadership roles (meritorious)
• Experience in railway operations/industry (meritorious)
