About this role

Project Description PhD Subject: Biotechnology Within the framework of a new long-term project aimed at better understanding the underlying cause and developing medical treatment strategies for Welanders Distal Myopathy, a doctoral position is announced in biological pharmaceuticals and stress granules. The project will aim to develop model systems that mimic muscle cells in the disease where a disease-related gene is mutated, as well as treatment strategies with biological pharmaceuticals. Both the development of binding molecules and gene therapy vectors will be part of the project. In our research group, we work together - laboratory technicians, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and scientists - with engineering and production of biological molecules such as antibodies, Affibody molecules, and adeno-associated viruses for therapeutic applications and to better understand diseases. We also work with mammalian cell line development where systems biology, OMICS methods, and CRISPR/Cas9 are important tools. Supervision: Johan Rockberg is proposed to supervise the doctoral student. Final decision will be made upon admission. We Offer - The opportunity to pursue a PhD at KTH. - A workplace with many benefits and monthly salary according to the doctoral salary scale.
