About this role

Project Description PhD Subject: Physics The doctoral candidate will conduct research on supernova remnants and address questions related to explosion physics, compact objects, and circumstellar interaction. The work will primarily involve analysis and modeling of observational data. Observations from various wavelength ranges will be used (primarily infrared, optical, and X-ray), including observations from the new James Webb Telescope. Astrophysics at KTH is part of the Oskar Klein Centre for Cosmoparticle Physics (https://www.okc.albanova.se/) at AlbaNova University Centre, which offers a stimulating international research environment. Supervision: Professor Josefin Larsson is proposed as the supervisor, with a final decision to be made upon admission. The following experiences and skills are particularly meritorious: - Thesis work in astronomy, - Experience in analyzing astronomical observations, - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, as the language is used daily. Target Degree: Doctorate Information on Admission and Employment Only those admitted to doctoral studies can be employed as doctoral candidates. The total employment period cannot exceed full-time doctoral education for four years. An employed doctoral candidate can, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks in areas such as education and administration. A new doctoral candidate employment is valid for a maximum of one year and can subsequently be renewed for up to two years at a time. For studies concluding with a licentiate degree, the total employment period cannot exceed full-time doctoral education for two years.
