About this role
Project Description
PhD Subject: Architecture, Specialization in Architectural Technology
This doctoral position addresses advanced design technologies, design-based research, and critical discourses in alignment with current and future architectural practice.
The research project departs from societal and environmental issues, following a research-by-design method, which likely involves workflow development through computational design and digital and physical prototypes from early design stages to manufacturing, through speculative as well as practice-related architectural projects. The position includes participation in multiple research projects, but the candidate is expected to define an individual focus. There will be teaching opportunities within the architecture program.
The candidate is expected to have a good understanding of architectural technology, high design capability, advanced computational design skills, a strong interest in collaborative design processes, and an interest in alternating between design-based research and scientific writing. The individual focus should consider a future career in academic research and/or architectural practice.
Supervision: Jonas Runberger, with co-supervisors in line with the selected candidate's profile proposed to guide the doctoral student. Decision will be made upon admission.
