The study position is combined with a full-time employment as a doctoral candidate during the study period, which corresponds to four years.
Job Responsibilities
A doctoral candidate shall primarily focus on their own doctoral education.
Job responsibilities include doctoral education activities related to environmental technology with a focus on life cycle analyses of bio-based plastics. Additional tasks may include institutional service, such as teaching and supervising bachelor's and master's thesis projects, with a maximum average scope of up to 20% of full-time/year. The position is for 4-5 years depending on the extent of institutional service.
Eligibility Requirements
To be admitted to doctoral-level education, the applicant must have basic eligibility and the specific eligibility required by the subject, and be assessed to have the necessary ability to complete the education.
Basic eligibility for doctoral-level education (according to HF Chapter 7, § 39) is held by those who:
• have completed an advanced-level degree,
• have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 credits at the advanced level, or
• have acquired equivalent knowledge in some other way within or outside the country.
Special Eligibility
Special eligibility for admission to Energy and Environmental Technology is held by those who have a degree (or equivalent studies) at an advanced level in an engineering or natural science area/subject that is sufficiently relevant to the current doctoral-level project.
