Document Control Lead – Technical Documentation in a Large Industrial Project
We are seeking an experienced Document Control Lead who wants to take overall responsibility for technical documentation in a comprehensive and multidisciplinary industrial project of high strategic significance. As Document Control Lead, you will ensure that the project's technical documentation meets the highest standards – in terms of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the project organization, suppliers, and engineering disciplines to create clarity, control, and progress in the documentation flow.
**About the Role**
In this role, you will lead the work of developing, coordinating, and quality assuring technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for structure, processes, and versioning, ensuring that documents are up-to-date and comply with the project's standards and specifications. You will work closely with the project's technical team, digitalization function, and external partners, serving as the hub for all document management.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Lead and quality assure the creation, review, and approval of technical documentation.
- Ensure that all documents adhere to the project's standards, guidelines, and requirements.
- Coordinate documentation deliveries from both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Develop and manage structures, processes, and routines for document management – including versioning, archiving, and document flows.
- Review technical documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure correct and traceable version management in the project's EDMS/CDE system.
- Support project teams in best practices for documentation and contribute to effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Act as the main contact for questions related to document management and drive continuous improvements.
- Participate in project meetings focusing on digitalization, progress, and coordination.
**Requirements Profile**
**Experience**
- At least 7 years of experience in technical document management in larger engineering or industrial projects.
- Documented experience in Final Handover in at least one complex large-scale project.
- Desirable: Experience with the transition to Digital Twin-based handover processes.
**Competence & Skills**
- Excellent knowledge of document management processes, versioning, and industry EDMS/CDE systems (e.g., Aconex or similar).
- Ability to handle large volumes of documentation with high precision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with modern digital archiving that replaces traditional archiving structures.
**Knowledge**
- Deep understanding of engineering documentation, technical standards, and compliance.
- Very good insight into documentation lifecycles, classification, and traceability.

**Education**
- Relevant post-secondary education, YH degree, or bachelor's degree in areas such as document management, industrial engineering, or construction engineering.

- Desirable: Knowledge of Italian, French, or other languages.
