Animal Caretaker at Röbäcksdalen Research Dairy Farm

Lövsta Agricultural Research We are a cheerful team looking for an additional colleague to strengthen our team. We are seeking someone who is responsible, meticulous, has a good sense of humor, and wants to work as an animal caretaker in the barn at Röbäcksdalen in Umeå. To thrive with us, it is an advantage to have social skills and be adaptable in a changing environment. About the Job The work involves typical tasks in a dairy herd, such as milking, feeding, supervision, cleaning, sampling, and record-keeping. Many research projects are conducted in the operation, which is an important part of the job duties. We work according to a schedule from Monday to Sunday, with work shifts between 5:30 AM-6:30 PM. Your Background We are looking for someone who enjoys working with animals, works well in a team, and has a background/education in the field. We prefer a self-motivated individual who wants to take responsibility, but most importantly, someone with a clear interest in working in milk production. We also place importance on personal qualities. Being technically interested and/or having machine experience is a big plus. Proficiency in speaking and writing Swedish is required for instructions and certain documentation. Experience or education in agricultural animals and machine operation is meritorious. About Us Röbäcksdalen Research Barn is part of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå. Here, both research and education in milk production are conducted, where we strive to create a high-quality environment for both animals and humans. In addition to milk production, there is extensive crop cultivation on 250 hectares. The farm collaborates with SLU's animal facility in Uppsala, which houses cows, pigs, and poultry. Location Umeå Employment Type Hourly-paid position; temporary position This means you will be offered work for shorter periods during the period specified below under "Scope". Scope The scope is limited by regular staff's short-term absences and may vary from 0-80 hours per month during the year 2026. Commencement By agreement.
