About this role
Do you want to make a difference for children and families? The Child Health Center (BVC) in Säffle is seeking a district nurse to join an engaged team at the family center, where collaboration, the best interests of the child, and preventive work are the focus.
Your Workplace
At BVC in Säffle, you will be one of three child health nurses working alongside three midwives, an educator, and two social workers at the family center. Our units foster a good collaborative climate with engaged employees. In Säffle, we work with "Backa barnet," a common model to ensure children's rights, identify needs early, and provide coordinated support to give every child the best possible start in life.
Our values are based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the equal worth of all individuals. These values guide our interactions with patients and with each other. We are also a health-promoting workplace that offers opportunities for joint wellness activities.
If you are interested in making a difference for our youngest and are keen to help further develop our preventive work, you will find an inspiring role and long-term relationships with families where you can truly provide support. You will receive continuous professional development through professional meetings and training several times a year.
The work is during daytime hours, and you will have significant opportunities to plan both your schedule and your tasks. The position is a six-month temporary contract.
Your Responsibilities
As a child health nurse, you will focus on the child, promoting health and prevention by providing information on topics such as breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, language development, vision, hearing, self-care, and child safety. Together with parents, you will monitor the child's development until school age.
As a child health nurse, you will offer support in parenting, health monitoring, and vaccinations according to the national vaccination program for children aged 0-6 years. At the family center, we have close collaboration with midwives, doctors, preschools, social services, social workers, psychologists, leisure leaders, and more.
Your Skills and Competencies
You are a licensed district nurse or pediatric nurse with prescribing rights. Previous experience in child health care is desirable but not a requirement. Personal suitability is highly valued. A valid driver's license (B) is required as home visits are part of the role.
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, and engaged. We want you to contribute joy to the workplace and take responsibility for both patients and colleagues, as well as the development of the organization. The work is independent, but close collaboration within the team and with other stakeholders requires excellent teamwork skills.
