About this role
Together, we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Together with our patients, we work towards quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – within an integrated healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always at the center. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchange both nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify daily operations at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and effective care of the highest quality.
**Description**
Clinical Nutrition consists of 40 dietitians who work across the hospital with nutritional treatment for patients, both individually and in groups, in both inpatient and outpatient care.
Your clinical placement will be within surgery, primarily in obesity surgery and infection – at both Östra and Sahlgrenska sites. In addition to direct patient work, we also focus on developing care routines within nutrition. It is important for us that nutritional treatment is based on scientific evidence and proven experience. As a university hospital, part of your responsibilities will also include supervising students and giving lectures in your clinical area.
**Responsibilities**
We are now seeking a dietitian whose primary responsibilities will include planning and executing individualized nutritional treatment. Collaboration around nutrition will occur with other staff in departments, in various teams, and during rounds. You will also be part of a team where you and other dietitians support each other’s work during absences.
In our dietitian operations, we prioritize the patient and provide a high level of service. You will achieve a high service level with us when you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions with patients, colleagues, and staff, as well as when you strive to deliver constructive solutions. We expect you to make patient-safe assessments and priorities in your work, as you will need to weigh complex information and considerations. Your judgment will be essential in communication, actions, and decision-making.
As we continuously learn by staying updated with the latest evidence-based research, you should be development-oriented and enhance your specialist knowledge, as it is a resource for both patients and colleagues. We appreciate innovative thinking that can be translated into practice, leading to continuous improvements.
You can expect a varied job with challenging tasks. The introduction will be tailored to your needs, and an individual competence plan will be created annually with your immediate supervisor.
**Qualifications**
You should have completed and passed the dietitian program or equivalent education. We value if you also hold a master’s degree. As we need to stay updated, you must have good knowledge of both English and Swedish. Proficiency in computer skills and experience with IT-based healthcare programs are advantageous.
If you have experience in nutritional treatment within surgery, particularly in obesity surgery and infection, we consider this a merit. The same applies to experience in inpatient care and enteral/parenteral nutrition. However, we also welcome applicants who are new to the dietitian role. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, good collaboration and organizational skills, as well as an interest in development work.
As a dietitian in Clinical Nutrition, it is important that you take responsibility for your tasks, work in a structured and independent manner, and be able to drive processes forward in a team.
In this recruitment, we are conducting ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!
