About the Company
ENACO is one of Sweden's leading companies in the construction, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure. Founded in 1977, the company boasts the industry's longest experience, with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, and Malmö, employing around 120 staff. The Stockholm office is located in Kista.
ENACO offers a comprehensive range of services in the construction, operation, and development of data centers and other critical infrastructure. They assist clients throughout the entire process, from design and commissioning of complete data centers to consulting and expert support for new establishments, often taking full responsibility or managing parts of the construction.
In addition, ENACO provides network installations, technical integration, and vendor-independent backup power solutions that ensure a safe and continuous power supply—whether for data centers, hospitals, banks, or other mission-critical operations.
As a long-term partner focused on sustainability and operational reliability, ENACO actively works on energy optimization, energy efficiency, and heat recovery in its solutions to ensure resource-efficient and future-proof facilities.
The company is currently in an exciting growth phase and is seeking a Cooling Designer to strengthen ENACO's position as a leading partner in critical infrastructure.
We at Asta Agency are collaborating with ENACO in this recruitment process. The process is conducted through Asta, and you will be directly employed by ENACO.
About the Position
The role of Cooling Designer involves developing reliable and energy-efficient solutions for cooling and ventilation systems in technically demanding environments, often related to data centers. You will work through the entire chain: needs analysis, load and power calculations, selection of cooling principles (e.g., free cooling, liquid cooling, DX, cooling towers), material specifications, and cost estimates. You will produce drawings and technical descriptions, define redundancy levels (e.g., N/N+1), and collaborate with adjacent disciplines such as electrical, control, and safety.
Together with sales, you will present proposals to clients and provide ongoing technical support to project managers during delivery. You will ensure that the solutions comply with applicable requirements and standards and contribute to developing methods, templates, and working practices within the team—with a particular focus on energy efficiency, PUE, and sustainable operations.
The assignments span both the private and public sectors and include medium and large companies, organizations, and authorities, as well as international firms. Clients have high demands for operational reliability, and here you will design technically advanced, socially critical solutions with a clear impact.
Qualifications and Attributes
You are a meticulous and business-minded designer in cooling/ventilation who thrives on translating requirements into robust functionality. You seamlessly switch between analysis, sizing, and calculations, creating clear documentation that drives projects forward.
- Post-secondary education in HVAC/cooling/energy or equivalent experience
- Several years of experience in the design and sizing of cooling and ventilation systems
- Ability to perform load, power, and energy/recovery calculations as well as cost estimates
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM and producing drawings and technical descriptions
- Familiarity with systems such as CRAC/CRAH, chillers/cooling towers, free cooling, liquid-cooled solutions, containment, and airflow optimization
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, laws, and standards (e.g., F-gas, Ecodesign, SS-EN 378)
- Excellent command of Swedish and English
- Valid driver's license and approved security clearance with background check
- Personal attributes: organized, proactive, customer-oriented, business-minded, collaborative, and technically curious
Preferred Experience
- Projects from data centers/server rooms or other mission-critical environments
- Experience in energy calculations, LCC/LCA, and PUE optimization
- Sizing and application of redundant cooling chains (e.g., N+1, N+N)
- CFD analyses/airflow studies and thermal simulation
- Coordination with electrical, control, fire safety, and security in multidisciplinary assignments
- Participation in bid work—calculations, technical appendices, and client presentations
- Method and template development in design/planning
