We are looking for a "Senior Design Engineer - Mechatronics" for a global manufacturing company in Huskvarna, Jönköping. The start date is in January 2026, with an initial 6-month contract and a strong possibility of extension thereafter.
**Assignment Description**
We are currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer specializing in mechatronics, with a strong emphasis on project deliveries as well as cross-functional team and supplier interaction. You will be part of a highly motivated team within the Handheld R&D Power Systems division. Power Systems is responsible for the development of the powertrain in both battery and petrol products. We develop the next generation of handheld products for the forestry industry and urban environments. You will play a key role in the development of our future products.
To excel in this role, you should be proactive, curious, driven, and have a keen interest in technical details. You should enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively in a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to make decisions easily are essential.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- 3D and 2D design of electromechanical components
- Electromechanical concept design and support for feasibility studies
- New development as well as improvements on existing products
- Support “Squad” and team deliveries, including internal and external relations
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Mechatronics or Mechanical Design
- Experience with design tools such as Catia
- Strong communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written
- Fluent in English
**Meritorious:**
- Interest in embedded systems and mechatronics
- Experience in the development of high-volume products
- Knowledge of electromechanical components, wiring, and PCBs
- Experience in frequent contact with suppliers/customers
- Experience with PLM systems, such as Team Center
- Experience in the design of light metal, machining, and molding tools
