About this role
We are looking for a Sub-Project Manager specializing in railway signaling within Västra Götaland County for Trafikverket. This is a consulting assignment. The work location is Gothenburg. The position is full-time. The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which requires a high degree of flexibility and teamwork.
**Assignment**
Sub-Project Manager with a focus on signaling in railway projects within Västra Götaland. The role entails responsibility for project management from project initiation to commissioning and handover to the client, with a focus on the signaling area. The Sub-Project Manager is part of the client organization, leading and following up on design and contracting, ensuring quality, work environment, and collaboration, as well as participating in investigations, meetings, and coordination with other technical areas and projects.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the project's signaling organization and ensure that design and contracting are carried out according to contract, goals, and client requirements.
- Monitor timelines, budgets, and content within the signaling area and contribute to the definition of roles and routines.
- Report to the unit manager and client, sometimes acting as a substitute for the project manager.
- Ensure that the project is executed in good collaboration and that work environment requirements are met.
- Follow up on suppliers' design work and contractors' production, including inspections, assessments, and self-checks.
- Consider work environment and safety in design and production, and participate in risk, requirement, and forecasting work.
- Participate in design meetings, construction meetings, working forums, and other relevant meetings with internal and external parties.
- Ensure quality and constructability in the produced documents and verify the competence and qualifications of designers/contractors.
- Participate in investigations, TKI assurance, railway plans, design and production assignments in the unit's project portfolio.
- Assist in the preparation of permits and notifications, as well as meetings with authorities, municipalities, property owners, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with other technical areas, adjacent projects, as well as site follow-up and construction managers.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of multiple technical areas without losing focus on signaling.
- Attend meetings at the client's request and support other projects within the unit as needed.
**Requirements (Mandatory)**
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (180 credits) or equivalent education.
- At least 5 years of experience as a sub-project manager in signaling within the last 10 years on mainline bypass track projects, including independent responsibility towards the signaling supplier Bombardier/Alstom.
- At least 4 years of experience as a sub-project manager in signaling, in track replacement and new remote block projects within the last 10 years.
- At least 4 years of experience as a project manager for release upgrades in signaling systems of type 95 within the last 10 years.
- Valid driver's license for passenger cars.
- Proficiency in Swedish and English in reading, speaking, and writing.
- Basic training in signaling technology for engineers, part 3.
- BAS P/BAS U training.
- Project management training, AMA construction.
- Training in contract law.
- Electrical installation regulations training.
- Training in signaling systems 85.
- ATC training.
**Meritorious**
- Experience as a project manager/technical coordinator with a signaling supplier in a project.
- Experience as a project manager/technical coordinator in signaling with responsibility from planning to execution in a bypass track on a double-track mainline.
- Experience as a project manager for an extensive signaling system.
- Training in BASÄSKYDD.
