Your Mission
As a Data Protection Officer, you will ensure that Nacka Municipality's operations and companies adapt to and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection legislation. An equally important part of your work is to provide advice and support and to develop the municipality's units in their efforts to comply with legal requirements. You will work closely with various expert competencies within the municipality, such as legal, information security, and digitalization.
The role means that you are the municipality's expert in your field and the point of contact for Nacka residents and the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) regarding data protection issues.
Working as a Data Protection Officer involves a broad network of contacts both internally and externally, for example through close collaboration with other organizations and authorities. Through an independent approach, you will work to make it easy to do the right thing, focusing on the benefit and legal certainty for Nacka residents.
The role of Data Protection Officer includes, for example:
- Providing advice, support, and information on data protection issues to the municipality's committees and certain municipal companies.
- Serving as a contact point towards the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) and consulting and collaborating with it as needed.
- Handling questions from citizens about the municipality's processing of their personal data.
- Following up on how Nacka Municipality's committees and companies comply with the provisions of the GDPR and other data protection regulations.
- Advising on personal data breaches in accordance with the municipality's incident routine.
- Participating in impact assessments and monitoring their implementation.
- Responsible for competence-enhancing measures for the municipality's data protection coordinators and coordinating the municipality's data protection network.
- Participating in the municipality's digitalization process by providing advice and recommendations regarding data protection in digitalization initiatives.
You will be part of the security unit consisting of eight employees. The Data Protection Officer role is at 80% employment and may potentially be increased in the future.

Your Experience
- Academic education in a relevant field for the position.
- Previous experience working as a Data Protection Officer.
- Good knowledge of the GDPR in general and current legal issues in particular.
Meriting
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: IT law, IT security, Cybersecurity/Information security.
- Experience in leading projects, processes, and improvement work.
