Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. Welcome to Försäkringskassan. The function of the Data Protection Officer (Dataskyddsombud) is organized under the Management Staff of the Legal Department. This function is being expanded from one to two Data Protection Officers. The Data Protection Officers report their observations, assessments, and recommendations to the Board of Försäkringskassan and the Director General. The administrative responsibility for the Data Protection Officer function lies with the head of the Management Staff. Mission of the Data Protection Officer The mission of the Data Protection Officer is to oversee that Försäkringskassan, as the data controller, adheres to the Data Protection Regulation and other data protection legislation. The tasks include, among other things, informing and advising, collecting information on how the agency processes personal data, and conducting checks. The Data Protection Officer is also to provide advice on impact assessments and serve as the contact person for the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection and for the registered individuals. The Data Protection Officer has no responsibility to ensure that Försäkringskassan complies with data protection legislation. That responsibility always lies with the data controller. The position involves handling confidential information, which imposes high demands for proper management. Therefore, it is important that those who work with us have a high security awareness. We are looking for candidates who: • have a law degree • have several years of experience in qualified legal work at an authority within the data protection and IT areas • have excellent knowledge of the Data Protection Regulation and other data protection legislation • have good knowledge of administrative law as well as transparency and confidentiality legislation • are able to work independently • have a systematic and meticulous working method • take initiative and responsibility for achieving good results • can understand and analyze complex issues • possess good educational ability • have strong communication skills, both verbal and written • collaborate effectively with others • have high personal integrity and good judgement. It is advantageous if you: • are qualified as a notary or have other equivalent experience • have experience in project management or equivalent experience • have experience working with information security and risk management.
