The Risk Department is seeking a Data Protection Officer who wants to drive the development of the Riksbank's work with data protection and regulatory compliance.

YOUR ROLE WITH US
It is of great importance to the Riksbank that personal data is handled correctly. The Data Protection Officer must be independent and monitor the authority's compliance with data protection legislation. You will provide advice and support to the Riksbank's departments and conduct training on data protection. The Data Protection Officer will serve as the contact person for the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection and for the data subjects. You will review compliance and report directly to the Riksbank's Executive Board on data protection issues. Through your proactive approach, you will support departments in their work with personal data management and contribute to further developing the Riksbank's data protection efforts. The role of Data Protection Officer offers you the opportunity to build a broad network. You will be surrounded by driven, knowledgeable, and engaged colleagues internally and other data protection officers externally, through participation in networks and working groups. In the role of Data Protection Officer, you will closely collaborate with the Riksbank's compliance function.
YOUR TEAM
The Risk Department consists of approximately fifteen employees responsible for internal governance and control, operational and financial risks, compliance, and data protection. The department's tasks include coordination, advice, support, follow-up and control, as well as reporting on the Riksbank's risks. MORE ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone with a Swedish law degree and at least 5 years of experience in qualified legal work from both public administration and the private sector, preferably in the financial sector. You have at least 3 years of experience from a government agency. Furthermore, you have worked with advisory roles in data protection law or other compliance matters. You possess good knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation and other data protection legislation. You also have a solid understanding of public access to information and confidentiality.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities and your ability to independently drive, communicate, and anchor your work. You have an excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English, with the capacity to explain complex legal issues in a pedagogical manner. You are engaged, work proactively, and understand the value of building good relationships and collaborating with others. You also possess good judgment and high integrity. To succeed and thrive in this role, an understanding of the organization's needs and sensitivity in dialogue with employees from various parts of the Riksbank is required. Knowledge of the Riksbank's organization and governance, as well as the legislation governing the authority's operations, is an advantage.

Start date: January 2026 or as agreed.
Employment type: Permanent position, probationary period may apply.
Location: Head office in central Stockholm.
Working hours: Trust-based working hours.
Remote work possibility: 1 or 2 days a week.
