The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing - we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transportation. The Legal Department consists of four units - the Client Legal Unit, the Agency Legal Unit, the Information Management Unit, and the Planning and Coordination Unit. The Planning and Coordination Unit is responsible for agency and departmental governance issues, legislative work and certain related development assignments, coordination of the Legal Department's joint processes, as well as the staff responsibility board's secretariat. DUTIES As a data protection officer, your task is to monitor the agency's compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have both a supportive and supervisory role in ensuring that personal data is processed correctly and legally. The data protection officer will collect information about how the agency processes personal data and provide information and advice about the GDPR and related legislation. You will also serve as a contact point for the supervisory authority, registered individuals, and agency staff. The work as a data protection officer includes monitoring internal compliance with the GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation, reporting on deficiencies and development needs in data protection issues, assisting in investigating personal data incidents, and providing advice on impact assessments. Furthermore, you will conduct external monitoring, networking, and knowledge acquisition in the field. The position is located in the Legal Department, Planning and Coordination Unit, but in the role of data protection officer, you have an independent position in the organization and report directly to agency management. There are good opportunities for remote work of up to 60 percent depending on individual circumstances. We are seeking someone who has: • Legal university degree • Previous experience as a data protection representative or data protection officer, or have otherwise worked in the field • Good knowledge of the GDPR and related legislation • Very good ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you have: • Training in data protection • Law degree • Notary certification • Experience working in public service OTHER The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replace it with selection questions relevant to the position.
