Your Role
As a Data Engineer at the Swedish Food Agency, you will be a key person in our digital development. You will be responsible for building, further developing, and maintaining our data platform, ensuring that data from various sources becomes accessible, structured, and useful for analysis, reporting, and future AI solutions.

Your Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain data pipelines from internal systems, Excel, and external sources.
• Further develop and structure our existing data warehouse in Azure/on-premises.
• Drive the establishment of a modern data platform (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or similar).
• Support the creation of BI reports and dashboards for the entire organization.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to create a sustainable and scalable data infrastructure.
• Prepare the organization for AI initiatives by ensuring data quality, accessibility, and the correct format for ML/AI models.
The Digitalization and IT Unit
At the Digitalization and IT unit, we work with business development and digitalization by leading, developing, and maintaining our IT systems while ensuring operations and support.
The position is located in the Swedish Food Agency's development team, where you will have colleagues who are system developers, IT architects, testers, and requirements analysts.

Your Qualifications
• Academic degree in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired through other means.
• At least 3 years of experience building ETL/ELT processes and working with data warehouses and data modeling.
• Good knowledge of SQL and at least one data management language (e.g., Python).
• Experience in AI/ML projects or preparing data for such initiatives.
• Experience in establishing procedures for data quality, metadata management, and data governance.
• Experience with versioning and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Knowledge of ML/AI and data requirements for model training.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish.
It is preferable if you have:
• Experience with Azure Data Platform (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric) or equivalent cloud solutions.
• Understanding of BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Experience working in an organization with complex data sources.
• Good knowledge of English.
