As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the mission to secure the payment infrastructure of the future at a technology company where we have a strong commitment to our mission – and to each other.
**Your Role**
You will be a central part of Bankgirot's extensive transformation journey and hold a key role in building our entirely new "Greenfield" solution for a future-proof payment infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for you who want to be involved from the ground up and create a modern platform that shapes Sweden's payment flows.
In this role, you will work with the operation and further development of PostgreSQL in environments with high demands for availability and security. You will have overall responsibility for PostgreSQL as a service within the organization – from installation and lifecycle management to backup, recovery, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with development teams and DevOps teams to ensure stable and compliant service delivery. Your responsibilities include:
- Management and development of PostgreSQL as a service within the organization
- Lifecycle management, including configuration and security updates
- Implementing and ensuring policies for access, backup, and disaster recovery
- Implementing, improving, and acting on automated monitoring of resources and logs
**We Are Looking For You Who Have**
You have experience with PostgreSQL from an operational perspective and are accustomed to working in complex technical environments. You have a good understanding of High Availability solutions, cluster environments, and network communication, including TLS. Furthermore, you are comfortable working with automation using Ansible and CI/CD pipelines, and have a technical understanding of how Kubernetes and mesh networks can be applied. You are also familiar with hardening Linux systems according to CIS Benchmarks and have insight into requirements related to licensed operations and compliance. Experience collaborating with development teams and DevOps teams is important, as well as a curiosity to contribute to the further development of our platform within the framework of transformation operations – the part of the business responsible for new solutions until they are fully implemented. Your academic education, or equivalent experience in the field, provides you with the technical foundation required to meet both today's and tomorrow's challenges. You combine theoretical understanding with practical experience, making you ready to handle complex environments and innovative solutions and contribute to the development of Bankgirot's database infrastructure.

**Additional Information**
The position is a permanent employment based in Liljeholmen, Stockholm. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English. A security clearance will be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before employment is finalized.
