About this role

Company Description Do you want to help shape the future climate-smart society and contribute to the development of a sustainable electricity grid? At Vattenfall Eldistribution, you'll have the opportunity to do just that. Vattenfall Eldistribution operates a critical infrastructure that distributes more than half of all electricity produced in Sweden - and we are now facing an exciting transformation towards a data-driven organization. We build, maintain, and operate a secure, reliable, and efficient electricity grid. Our operations and reliable electricity supply are crucial for ensuring that society always functions and can develop. Here, you'll become part of a driven and curious organization that works together to secure future electricity supply. You'll have the opportunity to influence, work strategically and operationally, and contribute to creating both societal benefit and innovative solutions. About the Role The Measurement unit has overall responsibility for Eldistribution's electricity meters, focusing on everything from actual field meters, data collection, dialogue with electricity traders, communication equipment and field service call-offs, to ultimately invoice customers. The unit consists of 7 groups with different focuses in the process from meter to customer. You will belong to the Automation & Analytics group. Employees are expected to be able to take significant individual responsibility for their tasks, participate in current issues, and contribute their expertise. We are currently at a stage where we must accelerate the transition to a fully data-driven approach to meet society's and industry's increasing demands for reliable, stable, and sustainable electricity supply. We are now seeking two Data Scientists/Analysts with the ability to develop our analysis operations within the Measurement department. As a Data Scientist/Analyst, you will play a central role in developing and implementing data-driven approaches within the Measurement unit. You will be part of a cross-functional team consisting of software developers, process developers, key users, and experts, collectively supporting the organization with analysis, automation, and decision support. The role involves both technical and strategic responsibility, and you will work practically with analysis tools while identifying needs, creating structure, and driving change with a focus on business value. Together with the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high quality and efficiency in both our electricity and data delivery. Your Role as Data Scientist/Analyst: • Holistic Perspective: Create structure and coordination where responsibility is currently fragmented - gather threads and ensure different parts of the organization work towards common, data-driven goals. • Data-Driven Culture: Establish working methods where data is used as a basis for decisions, priorities, and follow-up - both operationally and strategically. • Needs Analysis & Prioritization: Capture and understand needs from different parts of the organization, analyze what is most important to develop first, and create consensus around it. • Improved Processes: Identify areas for improvement in existing working methods and lead the development towards more efficient and sustainable processes. • Collaboration Ability: Create forums and working methods where people from different functions meet, share knowledge, and create solutions together. • Tools and System Support: Ensure the right digital tools and systems are in place and used in a way that provides real value. • Measure and Follow Up: Establish clear goals, key performance indicators, and follow-up routines to track development and ensure results. Requirements We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We are looking for someone who likes to take initiative and has the ability to take a comprehensive approach and lead the development towards a more coordinated, data-driven, and insight-driven organization. We seek a results and change-oriented person with a natural analytical ability who can contribute to our operational capability in a often fast-paced everyday environment. You are motivated by improving the organization through data and prioritize initiatives based on their utility. You are responsible and self-driven, which, combined with your experience, allows you to drive work forward independently. You value collaboration and contribute to a learning organization by actively sharing your knowledge and adapting messages to the recipient. • Relevant Education, e.g.: Master's in Industrial Engineering, Technical Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent academic education. Alternatively, equivalent work experience • Experience with analysis work in Azure Databricks (or equivalent tools like SQL or Python) and Power BI • Experience contributing to a data-driven culture in larger companies • Experience in identifying, managing, and resolving data quality issues • Experience in moving business processes from legacy systems to modern solutions • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English Advantageous if you have: • Experience leading, coordinating, or driving work groups, projects, or initiatives • Experience in the electricity industry • Experience with data
