Cyber Security Engineer - Defense Industry

Professional Galaxy is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for our client in the defense industry! Are you interested in working at the forefront of technology and contributing to the development of advanced systems that strengthen Sweden's defense capabilities? As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be a key person in securing complex IT platforms for technologically advanced training and support systems. This is a hire-to-buy assignment, where you will transition to employment with the client after 12 months. Requirements: • At least 3 years of experience in IT security and system development in complex environments • Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Windows client OS, including security features, AD, GPO, and access management • Experience with Linux environments, network security (firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS), and system hardening • Good scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation and configuration management • Understanding of NIS 2 Directive, ISO 27001, or NIST 800-53, with experience in security auditing and risk management • Ability to write clear technical documentation in Swedish and English • Swedish citizenship and security clearance required Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with defense sector regulations (ISM, KSF, or ISD) • Knowledge of authentication, file storage, databases, and virtualization • Experience with automated configuration management and DevSecOps methods Assignment: • Work on security solutions for training and support systems in technology-intensive environments • Manage and analyze data, review security requirements, and ensure compliance with NIS 2 and internal security standards • Participate in the entire system lifecycle – from concept and design to implementation, operation, and maintenance • Collaborate closely with system architects, product managers, and development teams to create robust and effective security solutions Application Deadline: November 16, 2025 Start Date: January 12, 2025 Duration: 12 months (hire-to-buy – employment after the period) Tech Stack: IT Security • Windows/Linux • Scripting • Information Security Fluent Swedish and English are required!
