About this role

Established in 2018, Testa Center is a state-of-the-art 2,500 m² bioprocess pilot-scale innovation facility located in Uppsala. Designed to support Swedish and international industry, startups, and academia, the center offers a unique, real-world environment for testing and validating new technologies and tools in the production of biological products. In addition to fostering innovation, Testa Center plays a key role in advanced university-level education and provides an environment for higher-level university education. Please visit www.testacenter.com for more info. We are currently seeking a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the daily operations and continued development of Testa Center’s offerings. This is a highly customer-facing role that involves hands-on support in project planning, coordination, presales, and process development. A key aspect of the position is to actively promote Testa Center and engage with external stakeholders to attract new projects and collaborations. The successful candidate will also play an integral role in managing and participating in collaborative initiatives with academic institutions and governmental partners, including responsibility for specific activities and/or acting as project leader when needed within consortia projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: • Be a part of the Testa Center team dealing with all kinds of matters ranging from hands-on duties to planning activities and outlining future strategy. • Take on the role of an expert in discussions with clients, coordinating activities and working directly with potential new clients. • Support Testa Center clients in planning, training, troubleshooting, and executing projects. Notably, the business model does not encompass Testa Center specialists being direct resources to client projects but rather acting as advisors to clients. • Work directly within consortia with academic partners and governmental bodies to ensure project progress and follow-up as needed. • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating gaps, providing solutions when possible. Responsibilities will also include maintaining the current instrument park at Testa Center and documenting working routines. • The center is frequently visited by opinion leaders, public and trade organizations, as well as customers, and hence participating in demos and exhibitions will be a key part of the job. • University organizations will also utilize the facility for higher education programs (MSc and/or PhD courses), and aiding in the coordination and preparation of the facility for wet lab exercises will also be included. The essential requirements of the job include: • MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess/biomedical engineering, or a related life sciences field. A PhD in protein production or a related field is an advantage. • Solid experience in an industry environment with a clear customer focus and diligence in deliveries. • The role requires excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex technical concepts. • Demonstrated ability to define and communicate clear project objectives and priorities in dynamic or uncertain environments. • Self-propelled, goal-oriented, and a willingness to learn new things. • Proficiency in English as a working language. To be successful in this role, we believe that you are a person who thrives in a flexible environment with demonstrated abilities to navigate in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer-focused environment. You have a strong ability to spot customer needs, communicate solutions, and build trust by collaborating to implement effective analytical methods. Interviews and selection will happen continuously, and the opening can be filled before the last day of application. For questions regarding the role, please contact hiring manager Jesper Hedberg at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!
