The unit for finance and management in Upplands-Bro municipality is at the beginning of a generational shift and is now seeking an engaged and experienced controller who wants to work closely with the operations, drive development, and provide support on financial matters. Together with eight colleagues and a unit manager, you will be part of our finance and management unit. In the role of controller, you will work closely with the operations, and development is a natural part of our work. We always strive for continuous improvement. Finance and management is part of the finance department, which also handles accounting, procurement, and legal matters. About the Job As a controller with us, you will have both strategic and operational responsibilities in working with budget, forecasts, year-end accounts, and financial follow-up. You will be a key person in developing the municipality's financial management and serve as a qualified discussion partner to managers and decision-makers. You will contribute with analyses, prepare decision-making materials, and make complex financial information understandable for different target groups. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues within the finance department. Currently, we use Raindance, Power BI, Stratsys, and Excel, and we are in the midst of a development project to strengthen our processes and system support—an effort you will be involved in. Who You Are You are a person with strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets. You possess a strategic perspective but are also hands-on when needed. You communicate clearly and pedagogically, both verbally and in writing, and find it easy to collaborate. To succeed in the role, you have: - An academic degree in finance or equivalent that the employer considers comparable. - Previous experience in qualified controller work. - The ability to translate analysis into concrete improvement proposals. - A humble attitude and a structured approach to work. We consider it an advantage if you have: - Experience from the public sector or politically governed organizations. - Experience in developing financial processes, routines, and internal controls.
