Description
Would you like to work in a future-oriented industry that truly makes a difference – and contribute to a more sustainable society by creating economic security and development? Then you might be the controller we're seeking for the Finance and Administration department at Karlstads Energi.
As a controller, you'll play a central role in analyzing, monitoring, and developing our economy. You'll transform numbers into insights, support decision-making, and help create a stable and sustainable economic foundation for the future. Working alongside the Controller Manager and Power Grid Business Area Manager, you'll ensure sound economic management and long-term sustainable business practices.
The role is both analytical and communicative – you'll serve as a sounding board for the organization, provide financial advice, and help create understanding of economic correlations. Experience with power grid regulation is a significant plus, as it provides extra insight into our operating environment.

Job Responsibilities
As a controller, you'll have a broad and developmental assignment. You'll be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and following up on financial results, actively driving and developing budget and forecast processes. Through your analytical ability and business-focused approach, you'll support the organization by contributing to well-grounded decisions and long-term management.
The role includes developing power grid tariffs and reporting data fundamental to revenue frameworks, while monitoring and analyzing industry developments in power grid regulation and ensuring compliance with current regulations. You'll also work on governmental reporting and investment project follow-up, identifying improvement areas and developing our processes and working methods.
The position involves close collaboration with colleagues in both finance and operations, requiring the ability to switch between detailed analysis and a holistic perspective. You'll become a crucial part of our work to create transparency, efficiency, and long-term sustainability in our finances.
Qualifications
We're seeking someone with a Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent education. You have strong experience in financial management, economic analysis, reporting, and follow-up, and thrive in a role that combines structure with problem-solving and collaboration.
You have excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and experience in power grid regulation, energy industry, infrastructure, or project-oriented operations is meritorious. Experience with Raindance is also a plus.
Personally, you are driven, curious, and solution-oriented. You easily build trust, communicate clearly, and collaborate well with others. You see connections, think ahead, and actively contribute to developing both the organization and yourself.
