Folkuniversitetet in Stockholm offers open course activities in languages. We are continuously working to develop our course offerings and would like to connect with individuals experienced in language teaching who can work with adult education in a circle format, a few hours per week – primarily in the evenings.
For the spring, we are seeking a circle leader in Icelandic. This position is mainly for in-person classroom courses in the evenings, but distance teaching may also occur.
**Responsibilities:**
- Teaching, preparation, planning, and follow-up. Participate in development work as agreed upon.
- Quality assurance by engaging with expectations before the course and evaluations after the course concludes.
- Participant communication between lessons related to course content, such as preparations or homework.
**Qualifications:**
A circle leader at Folkuniversitetet must possess the following upon hiring:
- Strong IT skills and experience in distance teaching.
- Pedagogical understanding or teaching experience.
- Subject matter expertise/work experience in the subject area.
- Experience and an active interest in adult education.
Your language proficiency in the teaching language should be equivalent to that of a native speaker, and we prefer that you hold a relevant academic degree. Desired personal qualities include the willingness and ability to work independently as well as in a group, strong social skills, good initiative, a positive attitude towards change and development, and an ethical approach.
The position requires good knowledge of Swedish or English.
