Region Skåne is responsible for healthcare, public transport, and sustainable development throughout Skåne. Our highest decision-making body is the regional council, which is directly elected by the residents of Skåne. The Department for Regional Development consists of several units with different focuses and is part of Region Skåne's administration, the Group Office. The regional development mission is a statutory core mission aimed at promoting development, sustainable growth, and employment across Skåne based on political decisions. We act as a driving force and a unifying entity for regional development. The department is divided into ten units that work in areas such as infrastructure and transport, broadband and digitization, research and innovation, skills supply, regional physical planning, green transition and outdoor life, business development, internationalization, social analysis, and external relations.
Our task is to coordinate development issues in Skåne and to lead the work with the regional development strategy. Together with many other stakeholders, we create the conditions for a Skåne with successful businesses, jobs, educational opportunities, improved infrastructure, research and innovation, energy supply, regional physical planning, environmental quality, and better living and health. Our ambition is to ensure that all development work in Skåne is conducted in a socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable manner in line with Agenda 2030.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Executive Secretary to the Director of Regional Development, you will play a key role in supporting and facilitating daily operations. The role involves managing administrative tasks, ensuring smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the development of work within the Department for Regional Development. You will continuously create and develop routines for your work and participate in management groups where your opinions are valued.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the calendar and scheduling for the Development Director.
• Organizing and preparing meetings, including booking venues, preparing agendas, and distributing meeting materials.
• Coordinating management group meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up on action points.
• Handling correspondence and communication on behalf of the Development Director and serving as a link between her and internal/external stakeholders.
• Participating in the planning and execution of internal and external meetings and events.
• Compiling and distributing internal reports and messages.
• Preparing presentations, reports, and other documents as needed.
• Actively contributing to improvement initiatives and strategic development work within the department.
Together with other Executive Secretaries at Region Skåne's Group Office, you will be part of a collaborative network that supports each other in daily tasks. The network also works to streamline and develop administrative processes and routines at the management level.
The position is based in Kristianstad, and your working hours will be divided between the offices in Malmö and Kristianstad, with the majority of your working time spent in Malmö. Travel within Skåne is included.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with a relevant post-secondary education in administration, business administration, or similar, or equivalent education and/or experience deemed adequate by the employer. In addition to your education, you have substantial experience in a similar role where you have worked with qualified administrative tasks. Furthermore, you are proficient in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form, and have good IT skills and experience with business systems. Experience from both public organizations and the private sector is desirable.
