About this role

We are now seeking an experienced specialist physician in psychiatry with a genuine interest in patient safety to take on the exciting role of Chief Physician at one of Sweden's largest psychiatric clinics. About the Organization The psychiatry department in Region Stockholm is in an exciting phase of development with the establishment of the new Psychosis Care Stockholm. Our current Chief Physician will transition to the same role at the new psychosis clinic. We are one of Sweden's largest psychiatric services, currently employing over 1,000 staff, providing inpatient care across 12 wards with a total of 222 beds, as well as outpatient care through 14 clinics. Our ambition is to become a leading example in Swedish psychiatry, which we achieve by working person-centered, offering the right competencies for patient needs, and emphasizing the application of evidence-based guidelines and care programs. We focus on development work in the areas of patient safety, care processes, and our most important resource—our employees. Your Role as Chief Physician The role of Chief Physician primarily involves: - Being responsible for involuntary care - Leading the patient safety team - Working on safety issues - Contributing to strategic quality development The position is broad with many points of contact both within the organization and with external partners, as well as patients and their relatives. You will report directly to the Operations Manager for Psychiatry in Southern Stockholm and be part of the clinic's management team, collaborating closely with operational management and section leaders, as well as leading our patient safety team. Our Expectations of You The role requires you to be a specialist physician in psychiatry. You have solid clinical experience from both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as a strong interest in education and development issues. Furthermore, you have experience and a keen interest in patient safety and healthcare law. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We expect you to be proactive, possess strong communication skills, express yourself well in writing, and have high integrity. You easily establish connections, show respect for others, and have the ability to foster participation and harness others' ideas. An academic background such as a doctoral degree is advantageous.
