County Adult Psychiatry Falun-Säter has a county-wide mission in psychiatric emergency care, inpatient care, and addiction treatment. The operation is located in Falun and Säter, with the goal of focusing on patients, relatives, and employees. We work together to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that gives patients the best possible chance to recover and reduce the need for inpatient care. The clinic offers a pleasant work environment with opportunities for professional and personal development, working according to evidence, proven experience, and continuous education.
Säter: Psychiatric Emergency Reception, Ward 90 (PIVA, 10 beds) and Ward 95 (PAVA, 14 beds).
Falun: Addiction Emergency, Ward 65 (addiction care, 14 beds), LARO Reception, and Ward 60 (general psychiatry incl. ECT and rTMS, 14 beds).
User-controlled admission is offered at both locations. Access to care developers, administrative team, and treatment team with psychologists, counselors, and occupational therapists. On-call line is staffed in collaboration with the Forensic Psychiatry Clinic in Säter.
Chief Physician and Medical Director, County Adult Psychiatry Falun-Säter
Job Responsibilities
The assignment involves being the medical director for the clinic's ten senior physicians and chief physician with medical management responsibility. You are responsible for medical care, legal requirements for compulsory care, high patient safety, and care according to science and proven experience.
Together with the clinic manager, you lead the clinic's patient safety work and development based on quality and cost-effectiveness. You collaborate broadly to create a comprehensive care chain and ensure that governance documents, care programs, and routines are kept up to date. The role requires good knowledge of relevant legislation and ethical aspects of psychiatric and compulsory care. You also function as a supervisor, expert, and support in research and development.
You are located in Falun-Säter with the possibility of remote work by agreement. As medical director, you are responsible for personnel, work environment, and planning of on-call services, with administrative support. Some clinical service and on-call duty are included. You have a colleague responsible for resident physicians.
As a manager, you are offered participation in the Region's management and leadership program and a process-oriented training that strengthens your leadership skills.
The position is a permanent employment in your primary profession with an appointment as chief physician and medical director.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Swedish medical license with completed specialist training in psychiatry
• Experience working in psychiatry
You have a genuine interest in our specialty and want to influence its future development within Region Dalarna. You are an independent person who takes responsibility for your own work and can lead and distribute others' work. You are a good educator who can adapt information to the recipient and see the value of collaborating with others.
As Chief Physician, you should:
• Have medical knowledge and competence to be independent
• Together with the clinic manager and leadership, take overall responsibility for the clinic's total operations
• Contribute to the development of evidence-based care and be prepared to supervise colleagues in all clinical situations
• Demonstrate good leadership skills
