We are now taking the next step by starting a new unit dedicated to advancing digitalization. The position is situated within the IT department of the Municipal Executive Office, one of the central units in Nyköping Municipality. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** As the Head of the Digitalization Unit, you will be involved in building a new unit from the ground up. Your focus will be on creating favorable conditions for the team to do an excellent job, where you lead, allocate, and follow up on the work. You will report directly to the IT Manager and be part of the IT department's leadership team, contributing to the strategic development of the department. The role is both strategic and operational, where you will drive development and change projects and be present where it matters. The Digitalization Unit works with organizational development related to IT, innovation, and strategy. We capture ideas, needs, and demands from the various departments in the municipality and transform them into smart digital solutions that make a difference for both operations and residents. We keep track of the external environment, identify needs for renewal, and develop proposals for solutions that match the needs of the departments. The strategic work involves developing and following up on long-term plans, policies, and strategies that help the municipality achieve its goals. We also coordinate efforts across different parts of the organization and ensure that the work complies with laws and guidelines. A critical aspect of our work is portfolio management—a structured way to prioritize and manage digitalization initiatives. We use benefits realization to ensure that our investments truly deliver results. The Portfolio Office, which is part of the Digitalization Unit, is responsible for handling incoming needs and has the authority to make decisions on smaller initiatives. **QUALIFICATIONS** - Relevant higher education or postgraduate qualification, for example, in IT, technology, economics, or management, but experience also carries significant weight. - Leadership and collaboration skills. You are accustomed to leading teams, driving development, and bringing others along on the journey. - Strategic thinking. You easily see the bigger picture and plan long-term, while also able to make quick decisions when necessary. - Experience with digital transformation. You have led or participated in major change projects where technology and digital solutions have been the focus. - Good understanding of IT and organizational development. You see how technology can create value and streamline operations. - Communicative and pedagogical. You can explain complex matters in simple terms and enjoy helping others understand and engage. - Curious about new technology. You stay updated and like to experiment with new solutions that can make a difference. - Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, so you can communicate clearly with different parts of the organization. Personal suitability will be of great importance. You are confident in your leadership, results-oriented, and characterized by trust in your employees' skills and abilities. You work operationally and contribute to a positive collaborative climate at all levels. You are good at collaborating and building strong relationships, both internally and externally. A communicative leadership style, organization, and a good pedagogical ability are essential for success in this role. The position is classified under a security classification.
