**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you will engage in a complex and significant societal mission where you can make a difference. You will join a workplace that values participation, personal development, and commitment. As a leader, you will assist your team in equipping our clients to lead lives free from crime and drugs, which we refer to as "Bättre ut" (Better Out).
As a manager, you will lead, develop, and monitor operations while providing support to your team in their daily work. This role includes responsibility for personnel, budget, and work environment regarding your staff.
You will report directly to the head of the prison and remand center and be part of the management team. You are expected, along with your colleagues, to take joint responsibility for your unit and, when necessary, your colleagues' units. The management team serves as an important platform for your leadership.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
We are looking for someone who collaborates easily and has the ability to engage others. You communicate clearly and can adapt your message based on the recipient’s circumstances. You remain calm and professional even in demanding situations and have the ability to adjust to changing conditions. In your professional role, you possess an analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive development and change efforts together with your team within one of the world's best correctional systems.
You naturally have a strong social commitment and share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation influence yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to treating everyone equally through your approach. We place great importance on personal suitability.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- An academic education or other training in combination with professional experience
- Experience in personnel management
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- A valid driver's license (B category)
It is advantageous if you have:
- Completed the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's management development program or another leadership development program
- Managerial experience (responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budgets)
- Experience working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience from multiple branches within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Relevant experience from other public sector organizations
- Experience in exercising authority, preferably within the legal chain
- Language skills beyond Swedish and English
