A key role focused on vehicle development
As the Manager of Management and Technology, you will lead and develop an organization with direct-reporting employees and a technology manager. Together, you will be responsible for 129 X60 vehicles throughout their lifecycle to deliver safe and intact trains. This includes developing an active asset management strategy in collaboration with the Traffic Administration, which owns the vehicles. Your role will involve maintaining and further developing the vehicle fleet, ensuring that vehicle and technology development is carried out in a way that maintains and improves the performance, functionality, and reliability of the vehicles.
Your main areas of responsibility:
• Lead and develop the department with the responsibility to:
• Develop an active asset management strategy
• Manage vehicles, components, operational equipment, documentation, and maintenance systems concerning safety, status, development, and lifespan
• Manage and develop vehicle systems, vehicle technology, and maintenance systems to meet passengers' increasing demands for high-quality delivery in terms of punctuality, functionality, and comfort
• Develop a systematic improvement process and maintenance optimization for the development of the vehicle fleet based on customer requirements, deviations, operational monitoring, etc.
• Drive improvement initiatives and develop employee and leadership capabilities within the organization
• Work closely with the Vehicle Manager and other managers on common issues
• Be responsible for personnel, work environment, budget, and traffic safety within the unit
• Build strong collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, such as the Traffic Administration, which is our client and orderer
You will be part of the management team for the vehicle unit and work closely with our Vehicle Manager – your direct supervisor – as well as other key functions within Vehicles and SJ Stockholm Trains. Together, you will drive the development of the operation forward towards a reliable commuter train service.
The position is based in Älvsjö depot, but travel to our other depot locations in Södertälje and Bro is included, as well as to our headquarters at Klarabergsviadukten in Stockholm.

An experienced leader with a strong technical background who can manage multiple points of contact simultaneously. You are business-oriented with social competence and have the ability to motivate and inspire your employees, including being attentive and communicative. It is important that you are results-oriented, can make decisions, and have the drive to implement them. You have the ability to shape the strategic direction for vehicle management and development, as well as collaboration with suppliers in vehicle projects and maintenance agreements.
To take on this responsibility, you should have:
• Many years of documented managerial experience
• Several years of experience in vehicle management/technical asset management
• Relevant academic higher education, preferably a master's degree in engineering, or have acquired equivalent knowledge.
• Experience working with complex technical systems, preferably industrial management and control systems.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish and English languages, both spoken and written.
• Experience in relevant work within the railway industry is highly meritorious.
