Do you want to make a difference for children and young people in Sundsvall Municipality?
We are looking for someone who wants to take on the important task of driving school transport for our students.
Sundsvall Municipality is facing a significant challenge to activate its contingency plan and quickly secure school transport for our students. Our current provider has abruptly ended its contract, which means we need to take over responsibility immediately. We are working intensively to transition in a safe and structured manner so that students can get to school as planned.
At the same time, we are working on a new procurement process to create a long-term and sustainable solution. We want all citizens to know that we are doing everything we can to manage the situation in the best possible way, focusing on the children's safety and continuity in their education.
We are seeking 20 employees for temporary positions in the Vehicle and Transport Department. We are conducting ongoing recruitment in this process, which means that positions may be filled before the application deadline.
As a school transport driver, you will drive according to a fixed schedule and a designated route. In the morning, you will pick up children at their residences and ensure they arrive safely at their stops. In the afternoon, you will drive the same route back. You will ensure that the children arrive safely and are not exposed to danger.
You will use one of the municipality's cars and always keep the children's safety and well-being in focus. The task is straightforward but significant; you will become an important part of their school day!
Your responsibilities will include:
• Driving scheduled school transport routes in the municipality
• Creating a safe and welcoming environment for children and young people
• Performing safety checks and handling vehicles responsibly
• Being a good representative of the municipality in interactions with both students and guardians
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who can take on this important task at short notice for the entire advertised period.
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds a valid B driver's license and has good driving experience
• Is confident, calm, and responsible in traffic
• Enjoys working with children and has a professional and respectful demeanor
• Speaks, reads, and understands Swedish fluently
Your personal qualities are highly valued in this process. You are service-oriented, possess good personal maturity, and are stable.
Previous experience in school transport or similar roles, as well as good geographical knowledge, is advantageous, but we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
