Job Responsibilities
The work as a driver and kitchen assistant is highly varied and involves working in larger kitchen facilities at schools and elderly care homes in Nynäshamn Municipality. The main task is to drive and be responsible for one of the municipality's food delivery vehicles, loading and unloading food cabinets and delivering them to various units.
The job also includes assisting with meal preparation and cooking. In the kitchen, you will perform tasks such as goods reception, vegetable preparation, serving, dishwashing, and cleaning. The role includes working every other weekend.
About the Workplace
The Nutrition Unit in Nynäshamn Municipality is responsible for meal services to municipal preschools, schools, and elderly care. We aim to provide children, youth, and our elderly residents with a great dining experience and inspire them to try new flavors and dishes. Meals are a significant part of the day for both children and young people in schools, and for the elderly in our care. At school, meals provide an opportunity to spark children's and youth's interest in flavors, ingredients, and sustainable development. For our elderly, we want to provide delicious, well-prepared meals that enhance their daily lives.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who is engaged, service-oriented, and has an interest in kitchen work. As a driver, it is crucial that you can operate the vehicle safely and securely.
To succeed in the role, you have:
• Class B driver's license
• Experience driving small trucks and packing goods
• Experience working in large-scale kitchens
• Experience working independently and in teams
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is advantageous if you have:
• Knowledge of common dietary requirements and food hygiene
• Experience working as a caretaker or jack-of-all-trades
• Knowledge of basic repairs such as changing wheels on rolling carts
