The Northern Inner City District comprises the central parts of Stockholm, Norrmalm and Östermalm. Here, we work to provide our 155,000 residents with the best services in areas such as preschool, social services, elderly care, and urban development. Do you want to be part of an exciting development in our work that will focus on leaving positive footprints in our continued quality work at Support and Service for Disabilities (LSS), where we strive to break isolation, promote social skills, and increase societal participation for our tenants.
The Northern Inner City District Administration has 10 service providers spread across addresses in Östermalm and Norrmalm. Our residences are home to individuals with functional variations within categories 1 and 2. Decisions are made according to the LSS Act (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
Our residents need support and service in the form of assistance with service tasks and accompaniment to various activities or healthcare facilities. Our services work with clear communication, both verbally and through images and schedules, as desired by residents.
Your Role as a Certified Care Dog Team
In your role as a certified care dog team, you will base your approach on the individual needs and wishes of our tenants, providing support in daily life through a pedagogical approach. Together with other employees, you will work to make each day meaningful and rich. You will provide support individually or in groups based on personal needs and preferences. A crucial part of the work is stimulating and motivating tenants to develop their abilities and independence by creating opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Activities outside the residence are part of the work as a certified care dog team.
Your tasks also include documentation in line with the LSS Act's intentions. Working hours are primarily weekdays, but weekend work may occur depending on the needs of different services. The position is 75% with potential evening and weekend work.
Your Competence and Experience
We are seeking someone who has:
- Certified Care Dog Team
- Dog tested for MH and MT
- Completed high school education in healthcare (nursing assistant qualification)
- Experience working within LSS
- Familiarity with documentation according to the Social Services Act
- Knowledge of Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Functional Impairments, and Dementia Diseases
Additional merits include:
- Knowledge of low-affective approach
- Knowledge of self-harm behavior
- Certified Dog Instructor
- Knowledge of various dementia diseases
To succeed in the role of certified care dog team, we seek someone who is confident, communicative, and possesses significant personal maturity. You should be self-driven, creative, relationship-building, and have excellent collaboration skills with all stakeholders. You value differences and understand how diverse backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations can affect oneself and others differently. You are meticulous, enjoy sharing your knowledge and experiences, and remain open to learning from others. You demonstrate empathy in human interactions and have a genuine interest in the profession.
