The Building Function handles administrative matters under the Planning and Building Act along with associated regulations. The function consists of a total of seven employees. Within the Building Function, there is also a position for a Housing Adaptation Officer who processes cases according to the Housing Adaptation Act.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for someone who wants to be an important part of our team and work with the processing of the technical aspects of building permit and notification matters. As a Building Inspector, you will be part of a team consisting of building inspectors, building permit officers, building permit architects, and housing adaptation officers.
In this role, you will primarily handle the technical aspects of building permit and notification matters and work independently with significant responsibility. Your tasks will include:
- Leading technical consultations
- Deciding on control plans
- Conducting site visits
- Making decisions on commencement notifications
- Holding final consultations and issuing final notifications
An important part of the job is also to provide advice and information on building issues and to participate in the administration's supervisory work. The position includes making independent decisions in accordance with applicable legislation and delegations.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
For this position, you are required to have a university degree as a construction engineer, building inspector/building permit officer, control responsible, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Experience in regulatory authority work within similar fields is a requirement. You should also have a good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and a strong ability to understand, interpret, and apply Swedish legal texts.
We would like you to have experience working with cases under the Planning and Building Act and its associated regulations, such as the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations (BBR), as well as familiarity with the Local Government Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Environmental Code.
As a person, you are service-oriented, resilient under stress, and possess excellent collaboration skills. You are self-assured, proactive, and can work independently when required. You easily build good relationships and communicate clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Good administrative skills and proficiency in computer use are essential for planning, structuring, and executing work effectively.
Personal suitability is highly valued.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is a requirement.
