We are looking for a Construction Manager specializing in occupational health and safety for an authority within traffic. This is a consulting assignment. The location is Stockholm. The position is full-time.
The Assignment
The Construction Manager for occupational health and safety is responsible for supporting the construction management team in health and safety matters during the construction phase of subway stations and associated tunnels in the Solna subproject. The role ensures that the project and contractors comply with laws, regulations, client requirements, and agreed working methods, as well as contributing to feedback and follow-up on health and safety work. The Construction Manager actively participates in the project's health and safety organization and works towards achieving the project's and management's health and safety goals.
Responsibilities
- Monitor that the project and contractors adhere to agreed working methods, client requirements, laws, and regulations.
- Assist project managers and other construction managers with health and safety issues.
- Record and document health and safety-related meetings.
- Review the contractor's documentation for work preparations and ensure compliance from a health and safety perspective.
- Follow up on the contractor's systematic health and safety work, e.g., ventilation plans and fire protection during construction.
- Participate as an observer in safety rounds with the right to propose measures.
- Be responsible for feedback from incidents and investigated accidents.
- Ensure that the project actively works towards achieving health and safety goals.
- Randomly check and ensure that the contractor's self-monitoring regarding health and safety is conducted.
Requirements (Mandatory)
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- At least a bachelor's degree or master's degree with a focus on occupational health and safety, construction technology, and/or civil engineering. Documented Bas-P and Bas-U training (minimum 16 hours).
- At least three (3) years of experience in health and safety work in infrastructure and/or construction projects in Sweden (minimum project sum of approximately 50 million).
- At least three (3) years of experience as a health and safety coordinator and/or Bas-U (administrator and/or contact person) in infrastructure projects (minimum project sum of 50 million).
- At least three (3) years of experience managing health and safety issues between clients and contractors in infrastructure and/or construction projects (minimum project sum of approximately 50 million).
- At least three (3) years of experience working with health and safety coordination in at least two (2) infrastructure projects (minimum project sum of approximately 50 million).
- Class B driver's license.
Desirable
- Experience from at least one (1) project (project duration of at least one year) where English has been used in daily communication as spoken language. Good knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety legislation, for example, through completed courses/training.
