About this role
We are seeking a Construction Manager/Contract Manager for the Trollhätte Canal project at the Swedish Transport Administration in Gothenburg. This is a multi-year consulting assignment. The position is full-time. The base location will be Gothenburg in 2026. In the first half of 2027, the base location will move to the construction office in Trollhättan. The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which requires a high degree of flexibility and teamwork.
**The Assignment**
The role of the Contract Manager involves acting as a resource consultant within the client organization for the contract E21 New Lock and Fairway. The Contract Manager plans and executes production in a safe and efficient manner, monitors the contractor's work against time, cost, and requirements, leads the daily construction management organization, and collaborates closely with the contractor. The role spans the entire construction process from design and procurement to construction, inspection, testing, final documentation, and handover.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage the construction management organization, which includes construction managers, environmental managers, measurement managers, and production project engineers.
- Oversee information dissemination and meetings within the construction management organization.
- Ensure production follows established requirements, including monitoring the control plan related to production.
- Drive the follow-up of forecasts, schedules, and calculations, as well as work meetings regarding risks associated with progress.
- Lead risk and safety efforts in production, including the development and maintenance of the production risk list.
- Organize and conduct rounds, inspections, and various types of tests and assessments for the contract.
- Review work preparations.
- Manage notifications, changes (ÄTA), and invoice reviews, including gathering documentation from the construction and design organization.
- Guide and develop the production project engineer.
- Drive project handover and final documentation together with the design manager.
- Collaborate with the contracted inspector on inspection efforts.
- Work to meet environmental permits, impact assessments, vibrations, groundwater, and environmental effects together with the contracted measurement and inspection organization.
- Participate in design work and provide construction technical expertise.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents for the main contract and preparatory contracts.
- Engage in discussions about organizational structure with the Project Manager.
- Participate in coordination meetings and meetings with project stakeholders.
**Requirements (Mandatory)**
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Degree from a technical university or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration in the technical fields of geotechnics, construction, concrete, or foundation engineering.
- Strong knowledge and experience with AMA Anläggning, and good understanding of contract law (AB/ABT).
- At least three years of production experience in infrastructure projects as a contractor in a supervisory role.
- At least five years of experience in the last twenty years as a construction manager on the client side in infrastructure projects with a contract value of at least 300 million SEK.
- At least two experiences on the client side in preparing tender documents and evaluations related to infrastructure projects.
- At least five years of experience as a coordinated construction manager/contract manager on the client side in infrastructure projects, including management and planning for construction management, coordination of changes (ÄTA) and notifications, review of the contractor's KMA documents, and ongoing supervision and control plan work.
- At least three years of experience in infrastructure projects involving collaboration. Collaboration refers to the principles described in chapter 6.2.3 Examples of collaboration tools in TDOK 2023:0246 Cooperation in contracts and technical consulting services.
**Desirable**
- More than five years of experience as a coordinated construction manager/contract manager on the client side in infrastructure projects, including management and planning for construction management, coordination of changes (ÄTA) and notifications, review of the contractor's KMA documents, and ongoing supervision and control plan work.
