About this role
Are you working in Business Controlling and looking for your next step - where you can truly make an impact? Do you want to get closer to the business, challenge the status quo, and contribute to something greater? Then you might be the Business Controller we are looking for at Stadler's site in Tillberga, just outside Västerås.
The recruitment is a collaboration with Jefferson Wells, but you will be directly employed by Stadler. Please note that the position is located in Västerås; the advertisement is also visible in Eskilstuna for visibility purposes.
We are looking for someone who not only counts but also thinks, questions, and drives things forward. Someone who sees opportunities where others see problems and who enjoys taking responsibility, being curious, and working closely with both project managers and management.
Your role - more than just numbers
You will be the financial backbone of one of our largest train projects. Here, you are not a passive observer - you are an active player who challenges, analyzes, and contributes to the project's success. You will be involved in everything from strategic discussions to operational decisions.
This is a pure controller role - you will not have responsibility for ongoing accounting but will work closely with Accounting, which provides you with strong support in your daily work. This allows you to focus entirely on what you do best: analysis, follow-up, and business-oriented controlling.
The finance team consists of six people: two in Accounting, two in Controlling, one Finance Manager, and our CFO - with whom you will work closely in your role.
Examples of what you will do:
* Be responsible for cost monitoring and financial management of projects
* Prepare and present forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators - both internally and for divisional management.
* Identify risks and opportunities, suggest actions, and drive improvements.
* Manage contract issues as well as some invoicing
* Ensure that financial data is of high quality - both internally and externally.
* Be a key person in the project's financial reporting and analysis.
We work daily in Excel, both with ad hoc analyses and in our ongoing reporting. Since we use several different systems, it is common to retrieve and combine data from various sources. Building smart Excel solutions that compile complex information into a clear graph with a straightforward message should feel as natural as riding a bike.
Who are you?
You are an analytical and business-driven person who sees the big picture and has a pragmatic approach. You dare to challenge and take on tasks you are unfamiliar with, are confident in your skills, and have a natural ability to create structure in complex contexts. With experience from the manufacturing industry and a clear process-oriented mindset, you have a good understanding of how finance and operations interact - and how numbers can best be used to create value.
We believe you have:
* A higher education in finance/accounting.
* 3-5 years of experience as a Business Controller
* Experience from the manufacturing industry, preferably from a small or medium-sized company
* Very good knowledge of Excel and project management.
* Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
With us, a balance between work and leisure is a given. We have a 40-hour workweek and an efficient working method where monthly closings require very little of your time.
