About this role
BUP Stockholm is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Specialist Service within the publicly run healthcare system of Stockholm County Healthcare Area (SLSO), which is part of the Stockholm Region.
The organization consists of five sections encompassing a total of 44 units. BUP's vision for future specialized child and adolescent psychiatry is to provide the right care when and where you need it – for a specialized, equitable, and knowledge-based child psychiatry with development and participation in focus. This means the care we provide is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, equal, integrated, resource-efficient, and that we as a team achieve this in a sustainable work environment. We are now seeking a Head of the R&D Section.
R&D Section has a multiple-faceted mission:
- Provide clinical care, preferably with simultaneous systematic evaluation. Several units within R&D are located here due to uncertain evidence for interventions such as immune psychiatry, severe norm-breaking behavior, or gender dysphoria, or when we need to test operations within project frameworks without clear connections to other parts of BUP. This also means these units may be closed down or "moved out" to another part of BUP after a period.
- Ensure and coordinate competence development and training, both at basic education level (medical education's child psychiatric component) and advanced level. This work occurs in close collaboration with the Center for Psychiatric Research, KIND, or other KI departments. The assignment also includes coordinating clinical placement for various educations (nurses, medical secretaries, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists) and supervised professional training. Physician continuing education and specialist training are managed through the physician office at BUP and are outside this scope.
- Coordinate, drive, and monitor research and development work within BUP. This occurs through a special research preparation group and a development group currently working on service design. The ambition is to stimulate research across BUP, with several projects ongoing in units beyond the R&D section. Development of R&D coordinators in various sections is in progress.
