Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Skärholmen District Administration is one of Stockholm City's 11 district administrations, covering the neighborhoods of Bredäng, Sätra, Skärholmen, and Vårberg. Here, more than 1,000 employees serve our 37,000 residents. We offer a municipal service that we are proud of, and we have a fantastic diversity. Welcome with your unique contribution!
Welcome to us
The Citizen Service Unit works to provide support, guidance, and information to the city's residents.
Within the unit, there are community advisors who staff the citizen office, budget and debt advisors, and the Leisure Bank.
As a budget and debt advisor, you play a central role in strengthening residents' financial security and opportunities for independence. You provide qualified advice and support to individuals who need help with their finances, whether it involves creating a sustainable budget, managing debts, or applying for debt restructuring.
The work is both independent and collaborative. You will have many points of contact, including with social services, the Enforcement Authority, and other agencies, and your ability to communicate clearly and build trust is crucial. Through your commitment, you contribute to the development of working methods, collaborations, and the ongoing establishment of the service in line with changes in the new social services law.
We are a dedicated and competent team that values collaboration, participation, and making a real difference for the people of Stockholm.
We offer
We offer you skills development, good flexible working conditions, the option to exchange vacation day supplements for extra time off, wellness benefits, summer and winter working hours, and a favorable occupational pension. Please read more about our benefits within Stockholm City here.
Your role
As a budget and debt advisor, you have an important role in strengthening residents' financial security and independence. You meet individuals in various life situations and provide qualified advice in three areas: budget counseling, debt counseling, and support in applying for debt restructuring. By creating structure and providing tools to manage finances, you help residents find sustainable solutions and pathways to a stable future.
The assignment also includes preventive work, where you contribute to increasing financial literacy and reducing the risk of over-indebtedness through information, lectures, and collaboration with other actors. With the changes resulting from the new social services law, collaboration with other services and authorities becomes an increasingly important part of the work – something you enjoy and see as an opportunity to further develop the role.
Currently, two dedicated budget and debt advisors work with us, and as the demand for our services increases, we are now seeking a new colleague who wants to strengthen and develop the operation together with us.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work or a degree from another higher education program that the employer assesses as equivalent
- Relevant experience working as a budget and debt advisor
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in the BOSS+ system
As a person, you are self-driven and take the initiative to move work forward. You thrive on taking responsibility and have the ability to structure and prioritize your work. At the same time, you are a clear and attentive communicator who builds good relationships with both colleagues and partners. The role involves many points of contact, including with various authorities and social services, which requires collaboration skills and a professional approach. You easily build trust, collaborate, and find common solutions. Through your engagement and willingness to develop working methods, you contribute to further developing the role and the service in line with the changes brought by the new social services law.
Does this sound interesting? We warmly welcome your application!
