The Construction Companies are working for an attractive, healthy, and safe construction and civil engineering industry where companies compete on fair terms. We are now looking for someone with a strong interest in community building, who excels at networking, and has a strong personal drive!
About the Job
Our member companies are organized into local construction associations that belong to five geographical regions. As the industry and association manager in Västernorrland, you will be part of the North region and drive work in the local construction association in Sundsvall. This means you will convene meetings and board meetings, be the primary contact person for the association, and create activities for the members. You will work on capturing the members' prioritized issues through, for example, collaboration groups, networks, and company meetings, and subsequently present these in relevant forums. The work is varied and interesting in a dynamic organization. No two days are alike, and you will constantly face new challenges and exciting meetings with people.
You will be part of a regional team of 14 people, of whom 5 work in similar roles as industry and association managers in other locations. At the office in Sundsvall, you will be alongside 2 colleagues, the Swedish Enterprise, and other nearby organizations. As a new employee, you will receive a thorough introduction to gradually prepare you to take on the role independently.
Your Responsibilities
• Drive the association's work by, for example, calling and leading meetings, documenting minutes, and organizing the annual meeting. You will be a spokesperson in the Västernorrland construction association board and in the appointed committees, as well as plan, administer, and carry out its meetings and activities.
• Create local activities related to our focus areas, which include skills supply, fair competition, collective agreements and labor law, occupational health, and climate transition.
• Organize member activities such as networking events, lectures, and study visits.
• Translate national and regional goals into local activities.
• Engage in dialogue with authorities and politicians regarding our focus areas.
• Represent the Construction Companies, the local construction association, and member companies toward authorities, businesses, media, trade unions, and educational institutions together with colleagues in the region.
• Participate in various collaboration groups and act with member companies to drive the Construction Companies' issues locally.
• Improve the local conditions for member companies through advocacy work.
• Collaborate, plan activities, and share experiences with other industry and association managers in the organization.
Your Profile
We prefer that you have experience from the business sector, preferably in the construction field, as well as experience in leading and organizing groups, meetings, and activities. Knowledge of the community construction sector and business policy is a merit. To succeed in this role, it is important that you have a structured working method, can express yourself easily in speech and writing, and excel at building networks and maintaining good relationships.
We highly value personal qualities and previous assignments, as well as a relevant education in areas such as civil engineering, communication, HR, or political science.
As a future employee, it is also important that you can identify with the organization's core values of joy, commitment, and professionalism. Please read more about our culture and values here.
