The Community Building Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations, responsible for several central community functions. With approximately 450 employees, we work on planning, development, and management of the municipality's infrastructure, properties, parks, and outdoor environments. The administration is also responsible for water and sewage operations, waste management, meal services, cleaning services, and emergency services.
The fire services in Mjölby and Boxholm collaborate under the common name of Mjölby/Boxholm Fire Service. In the operational fire service, the fire chief has overall responsibility for six incident commanders and five shift teams, each consisting of a team leader and four firefighters. The part-time station in Skänninge has three shift teams with two part-time firefighters on each shift.
In the preventive work regarding accident protection, the fire chief has overall responsibility for systematic fire protection efforts directed towards municipal administrations and businesses in the municipality. The fire service also has an external training department with a training leader.

TASKS
No day is the same; we are looking for someone who wants a varied job where one day you stand in front of a group of people and instruct, and the next day you respond to operational emergency services. This requires you to be skilled with various tools and to have no issues speaking in front of groups, large or small.
You will participate operationally in all rescue operations or assignments as well as exercises. You will participate in or lead certain exercises/trainings for other staff. You will contribute to the fire service's accident prevention activities regarding information, training, study visits, etc.
You will participate in or, in some cases, be responsible for work within the fire service's main or support processes, such as training activities, vehicles, rescue equipment, electrical work, etc. Additionally, you will participate in and contribute to the fire service's daily operations both at and outside the station.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a two-year post-secondary education in accident protection (SMO) or equivalent education from an older educational system. You meet the medical requirements for smoke and chemical diving. You are certified as a smoke diver in accordance with AFS 2007:7 (please attach an approved treadmill test at 5.6 km/h with an 8-degree incline to your application).
You have swimming skills equivalent to the gold badge (please attach a certificate no more than 3 months old).
You hold a BC driver's license (additional qualifications are an advantage).
You possess practical skills tailored to the various tasks that may arise during operational interventions. You have the ability to follow instructions, procedures, legal requirements, and policies, as well as adhere to set timelines.
You have the ability to work with others; to listen, show empathy, and respect. You are unpretentious and acknowledge and reward the contributions of others.
You can speak clearly and exude credibility and confidence. You have the ability to hold presentations, lectures, and training sessions, adapting them to the needs and feedback of the audience.
You can perform under pressure and handle difficult situations. You remain optimistic in the face of challenges and have the ability to accept and learn from criticism.
