About this role

Nerikes Fire Department is a municipal association where Örebro, Kumla, Hallsberg, Lekeberg, Laxå, Askersund, Nora, Lindesberg, and Ljusnarsberg collaborate on fire services and accident prevention activities. We are one of the larger fire service associations in Sweden with our 28 fire stations, approximately 500 employees, and an operational area that serves about 260,000 residents. We are currently in an exciting phase of expansion and development. An operational collaboration between Värmland, Dalarna, and Örebro counties (the Bergslagen Rescue Region) started in 2020, and in November 2023, the joint control center Seglet was completed, where we work in partnership with the Police and SOS Alarm. In the spring of 2026, another fire station will be completed and inaugurated in Örebro. The Community Protection unit works to prevent accidents, primarily related to fire. This is accomplished through collaboration with other authorities and organizations, conducting inspections in accordance with the Act on Protection Against Accidents and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, as well as issuing permits under the same regulations. The unit is also responsible for chimney sweeping issues. In addition to this, the unit engages in providing information and advice to the public regarding fire safety.
