Description Räddningstjänsten Storgöteborg works to create a safe and secure society for over 750,000 residents in our nine member municipalities. We have a broad mandate ranging from acute rescue operations to long-term accident prevention. We are now seeking two fire engineers who want to contribute to maintaining and developing our preventive work in the Department of Community Protection. Job Responsibilities As a fire engineer in the preventive area, you will have a varied and developing assignment where you contribute to creating a safer and more robust society. The work encompasses a broad spectrum of tasks that can change and develop over time. You will work as an official in fire protection and risk management. As a fire engineer, you may participate as a stakeholder and expert in the planning and construction process, conduct inspections according to the Act on Protection against Accidents, handle permits and supervision cases according to the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, and provide advice to operators, property owners, and the public. You may also work with risk analyses, information initiatives, training, and participate in projects that develop preventive work throughout the organization. We place great emphasis on cooperation and learning, both internally and externally. You will collaborate with colleagues from other parts of the organization, municipal administrations and agencies, as well as companies and organizations in society. Thanks to the association's size and content, there are good opportunities for fire engineers to deepen and specialize in different areas. Qualifications To thrive and succeed in the role of fire engineer with us, you need to have a structured and analytical approach. You need the ability to interpret and the will to apply laws and regulations. You take responsibility for completing your tasks with great care and quality but can also adjust the level correctly when circumstances require it. In your work role, you can collaborate well with others and are flexible when conditions change. You need: - Fire engineering degree from a technical university - Good digital skills - Ability to formulate and write documents with high linguistic quality - Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both Swedish and English - Ability to review and process extensive technical reports - B driver's license Meritorious: - Several years of work experience as a fire engineer - Worked as an administrator and supervisor in rescue services - Master's degree in fire technology or risk management - Advanced training in rescue services for fire engineers - Experience from operational rescue services What We Offer You With us, you will work in an organization with strong social commitment, (relatively) short decision-making paths, and a major focus on development. Additional Information We place great importance on personal suitability and interview on an ongoing basis. Your employment includes wartime placement with the Rescue Service and general service obligation, which means you are required to serve in the event of heightened preparedness or war. Before employment, alcohol and drug tests will be conducted according to the organization's policy and in cooperation with our occupational health service. Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with registry check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some positions in the security class, Swedish citizenship is also required.
