There are significant industrial investments taking place in northern Sweden, including in the municipality of Gällivare, which presents exciting challenges for the rescue service within the dynamic risk landscape we are in. The Gällivare Rescue Service is part of the rescue management system Räddsam Nord, which includes a total of 19 member municipalities stretching from Nordmaling in the south to Kiruna in the north, where approximately 500,000 residents live. The workplace consists of around 30 employees, in addition to five rescue wards and a contractually affiliated industrial fire brigade. We work towards a safer and more secure Gällivare!
**Job Responsibilities**
The primary responsibilities include complex supervision according to LSO (the Swedish Fire Protection Act), supervision and permit assessment according to LBE (the Swedish Building Act), and handling referrals based on PBL (the Planning and Building Act) or other legislation. You will also work with our hazardous activities within the Gällivare municipality, where you will have the opportunity to consider risks associated with oxidizing products, aircraft, mining operations both underground and above ground, and hydroelectric dams. You may become part of the rescue service's management team.
With the right qualifications and based on your personality, staffing of the incident commander function may be relevant. You will be responsible for one of the rescue service's operational areas within our overall operations, where you will drive development, follow up, and ensure quality in your area. During an interview, we would like to know which areas within the rescue service sphere interest you the most! Collaboration within the municipal group as well as in collaborative constellations within Räddsam Nord is an important part of driving the operations forward in the collaboration area, where you may become part of project or other working groups.
**Qualifications**
Your education should be a fire engineering degree with completed or planned training in RUB (Rescue and Emergency Management) or equivalent education. Experience working within municipal rescue services or in building technical fire protection is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability. We expect you to be responsible, communicative, and have an eye for identifying development opportunities. We also see that you have the ability to work systematically from start to finish, possess good collaborative skills, and have a creative streak. You should be proficient in both spoken and written communication.
The position requires a valid driver's license (Category B). The role may involve security clearance.
In accordance with the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is advantageous when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

**Employment Type/Working Hours**
Temporary position for 1 year. Full-time. The basis for the position is daytime work, potentially in combination with on-call duties in a management role as an incident commander. If deemed suitable based on your qualifications and personal attributes for any of the shared management functions, the position may also include such combined duties.
