About this role

Uniper is an amazing company to grow and develop in! As our colleague is moving internally, we are seeking a new colleague and fuel engineer at OKG, our nuclear power operation in Oskarshamn. As a fuel engineer with us, you have a unique role in working with the true core of the plant. The position is broad and multifaceted as we handle the entire chain from uranium procurement to interim storage. We primarily seek someone with experience in a similar role within the nuclear power industry, but we may also be open to candidates at the beginning of their career. We look forward to your application and welcoming our new colleague and everyday hero who will contribute to a stable and secure electricity system that stands strong even in the future! Hello! We are Uniper, an international energy company driving the development towards fossil-free electricity production. We are proud to have been named Sweden's most attractive employer for two consecutive years in the Nyckeltalsinstitut's measurement. Our success is built on a workplace where people with different perspectives, mindsets, competencies, and experiences meet. We believe in a workplace where every individual can contribute something valuable. Where everyone feels equally appreciated and respected, whether working at our production facilities, office, or from home. In our work towards a sustainable future, a strong and integrated safety culture is fundamental, reflecting our corporate culture and commitment in everything we do. This is how we develop as a company and create a future together. We call this Uniper Way, our corporate culture. We believe the path to a sustainable future is through gradually developing and changing, by setting measurable goals that we achieve together. Do you also believe in a fossil-free future? Join us on our journey. The beating heart of Energy! Your Role with Us The TH (core and fuel) unit comprises two groups, with you being part of one; THB (fuel technology). The other group is THF (reactor physics). The unit is part of OKG's technical department with over 100 engineers ensuring that Sweden's largest nuclear reactor, Oskarshamn 3, and OKG's other nuclear technical facilities can continue to operate for many years to come. We are building industrial history! This is a role where you combine administrative work with hands-on involvement in operations. You will manage many different contact surfaces and collaborate with fuel engineers and reactor physicists in the unit, as well as personnel from reactor maintenance, chemistry, radiation protection, and operations. External contacts include SKB, nuclear fuel suppliers, and other fuel engineers in the industry. What Will You Work On? As a fuel engineer, you will work with nuclear fuel technology. This means you will spend a significant portion of your time on the following: • Planning and executing inspections and handling of nuclear fuel and control rods • Planning and executing manufacturing follow-up for nuclear fuel and control rods • Compilation and evaluation of inspection results, design review for nuclear fuel and control rods • Investigations within the operational area • Development and updating of safety reports in connection with nuclear fuel projects • Interpretation of requirements from authorities and other external and internal actors A few service trips per year are included. These can be both national and international and are usually planned well in advance. You will be part of a team of seven people and report to the fuel technology group manager. Martin Sandin will be an inclusive and genuine manager with clear expectations for your delivery. In addition to support from the manager and team, you will have a mentor to help you integrate into our operations – we solve the assignment together!
