About us
Skyttorp LSS is a group home according to LSS §9:9 for four adults in target group 1 who have intellectual disabilities and autism combined with neuropsychiatric diagnoses such as ADHD, mental illnesses, as well as complex and extensive behavioral challenges. The mission entails a very high and continuous level of care and support where safety, structure, and professional endurance are central components of the work. The target group has extensive support needs related to behavioral difficulties and requires a safe, structured, and predictable daily life. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of February 2026 and is located in the calm and secure area of Skyttorp, approximately 25 kilometers north of Uppsala.
About the position
We are seeking engaged and experienced residential support workers/support assistants for our new specialized LSS group home. This role requires an extremely high and continuous level of care and support. You will be part of a team that provides the specific staffing resources needed to ensure safety and security for both residents and staff.
What does the role entail?
• Professional handling: Strong ability to prevent, manage, and redirect situations safely. You actively contribute to ensuring individuals' safety.
• Structure and approach: You work from a consistent and individualized approach with clear structure and boundaries, while also showing care and endurance.
• Active support: You provide assistance in daily living activities (ADL), planning, employment, and leisure activities.
• Health competence: You support individuals in managing their somatic illnesses and other medications, as well as addressing anxiety/restlessness and attention-seeking behaviors without reinforcing them.
Employment conditions
We are currently seeking several employees for permanent positions, with a six-month probationary period. The position is 100% and the working hours are varied, including days, evenings, weekends, and nights. We apply individual salary setting, and other compensations are in accordance with collective agreements. The start date for the position is February 1, 2026, or as agreed.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with high endurance and the ability to methodically work to build increased trust and stable relationships over time. As a residential support worker/support assistant, you need to have good patience and be attentive and flexible. You take shared responsibility for a positive work environment through respectful interactions. You have a strong ability to work in a team characterized by close staff presence and continuity in staffing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your ability to build trust.
To apply for the position, you must have:
• At least a high school education, preferably in care and social services, social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience working with the LSS target group, neuropsychiatric disabilities, and complex/aggressive behaviors.
• Experience with neuropsychiatric disorders, psychiatry, mental health issues, and outwardly aggressive behaviors.
• Experience in Low Arousal Approach (Lågaffektivt bemötande, LAB) and clear pedagogical methods.
• Experience and knowledge in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
• Documentation skills and knowledge of the Individual Needs-Centered Approach (IBIC).
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as documentation is a significant part of the work.
• A valid driver's license (B).
It is an advantage if you have:
• Knowledge and experience in art, music, sports, or crafts.
• Ability to use support signs and/or sign language.
